The internet has made at home shopping a convenience that millions of Americans can enjoy every day in the comfort of their own home. With so many websites available, anything can be found online and it makes shopping for shoes, dvds, clothes, and more easier than ever. The only drawback is paying for shipping charges, and the fact that if something is needed right away it’s not an option.
Shopping for clothing online is great but there’s one con – you can’t try on clothes. And sizes are not all the same, varying from store to store. You may have a pair of skinny jeans you love from one certain store, but they may not necessarily fit from another store.
The hassle of this is having to wait for shipping, having the clothes not fit, and then having to mail them back. However most stores online do their best to accurately match sizes as close as possible, and have guides to measurements to make things easier. As long as you know your measurements, the clothes should be the right size.
Also, if the shopper is used to going to a particular store for their clothes and is already aware of the way they fit, for example, maybe their small sizes run large, or their mediums are too small, they’ll know exactly what to buy.
Shoes are a little easier to buy online. Most people know their size and shoes do not generally run small or large depending on the store but stay true to the size. Whether you’re buying a type of brown boot or a pair of sneakers, the pair should fit.
These days there are thousands of online merchants selling things from electronics to car parts to cameras. You can find just about anything, from a baby blanket to a black sport watch. Shoppers can now find what they want in a matter of minutes instead of making a trip out to a department store and spending a long time looking for the items they want.
One thing to take precaution with though is using your credit card online. Be sure you’re buying from a secure store and don’t save your credit card info to the computer or to the website. Don’t give out your social security number either, because identity theft is still prevalent.
Tips for Finding Closeouts and Ways to Use Them|

If you have done some research into the best ways to obtain goods for an e-commerce business, you will know that finding closeouts is one of the efficient methods that you can purchase brand quality items for a very low price.
A lot of people are also interested in buying closeouts direct without the middleman, which also means purchasing direct from a wholesale liquidator rather than a discount retailer. Many businesses will pretend to be closeout suppliers when in fact they are intermediaries who are adding a markup on the closeout price. Always be sure that you are ordering straight from the wholesale closeout supplier, as that means you are getting the maximum discount available for a product.
You can make a ton of money from closeout products and so we’ve put together a few tips for you about discovering closeouts and the kinds of things that you can do once you have your closeout merchandise.
Your best bet for locating closeouts is to look for a wholesale supplier who has been in business for a while. This means that they are a reliable company, and you don’t need to worry about wasting your money. Wholesale suppliers are also the only dependable dealers of closeout products.
Because you are purchasing closeouts direct without the middleman, the prices you are getting are very cheap. In fact, they can even be as low as ten percent of the retail price of the item. Once of the great things about this is that you can pass on part of this saving to your customer. If you are selling your items at fifty-precent off the retail price, your customers will be delighted at the bargain that they are getting. What’s more, you’re still making a large profit on each sale because you got them at such a low wholesale price to begin with.
Offering extras is another great way to move items you bought from finding closeouts. If you know that a customer could use two of the same item and would be more inclined to buy if they think they’re getting a better bargain – offer them a buy one get one free. This works amazingly well with household products such as clocks, lamps or soap dishes, and you’re still making a profit on your wholesale purchase price.
Offer prizes! Conduct a raffle for customers who spend a set amount of money during a set period of time. Make it something very desirable, like a flat screen TV, or a laptop, anything that you have bought at a closeout price so it won’t cost you much money, but will entice your customers to spend.
A reliable wholesale supplier will always have a varied selection of closeouts available for you to buy, you may find that you are selling a wide range of vastly different products, but your prices are what will make your customers come to you and buy, as they won’t be able to find such great deals anywhere else.
Remember that getting closeouts is just the first step in your journey. You then need to market your goods effectively so that your customers will buy.
How Can 140 Characters Make You a Millionaire?

With only 140 characters at a time, you can make millions…
Twitter. Why is it that Twitter is only 140 characters by the way? Well, because many cell phones can only text 140 characters, that’s why! And why can cell phones only text 140 characters? Because the message piggybacks on signals already being sent by the phone and it costs the cell phone company NOTHING AT ALL to send the text message! So guess what, they are charging us ten dollars per month each (or more, or less) for something that is completely free for them. Smart… infuriating, but smart.
Ok, let’s get back to business. How do I capitalize on the vast popularity of Twitter and get the millions of daily Twitter users to give me their cold hard cash? How can I monetize Twitter??
You don’t!
Monetizing means to make money directly from something with affiliate links, or adwords ads etc. Take a look around on the Twitter.com site; even Twitter doesn’t monetize Twitter!
If you’re new to Twitter you need to learn some basics about how it works and what exactly is going on in the messages that you see.
First off go to www.twitter.com and sign up for an account. I suggest using your company name, website name or your real name as your Twitter account name. Don’t make it something that may be offensive, hard to remember or unprofessional if you are doing this for your business.
- Yes you may have more than one Twitter account, but one is hard enough to manage, who needs more?
– Upload a small image, preferably a small photo of you or your company logo. Now you’re ready to get tweeting!
Next you will need to know more about how it works and what it is you will be seeing in the tweets of those you follow. Most of the tweets you will see are two different types of usless information; 1) Spam and 2) Random meaningless tweets by strangers and “Goodnight Twitter” messages. (Don’t waste people’s time by posting “Goodnight Twitter”… please!!)
The information you are honestly interested in seeing will not appear in your tweet stream! The messages you will see are every post made by every person that you are following. Imagine following 2,000 people like I do, or 10,000 or 20,000… how in the world do you follow that many people?
YOU CAN’T.
You’re on Twitter to get your message across, to speak to your audience, and to respond to only those messages that are actually sent to you and are not spam, but a human that is interested in speaking to you. And, in a nutshell, twitter.com is completely USELESS for doing this!
Now if you follow me, don’t get me wrong; I’m not discounting you as a person or uninterested in what you may have to say, but I can’t possibly be that involved with the thousands of people I would like to reach on a daily basis regarding camera repair. Twitter is amazing, and if I could afford a full time employee to do just Twitter I probably would.
I use Twitter every day, and I see almost every person that tweets about a broken digital camera or digital camera repair. I can’t possibly message them all, and when I try to, I think they think I’m just spamming. I would advise you to not do more than what you can comfortably handle. You are using Twitter to build credibility with your audience, not to sell to them.
Ok now, in your tweet stream you will see messages with different symbols, abbreviations and crazy looking links.
- The different symbols most commonly used are: @ (a message sent to a person so it shows up in their tweet stream) and # (an easily search-able topic or subject)
– Some of the most common abbreviations are TT (Trending Topic: something that is mentioned in many different tweets right now), DM (Direct Message: sent only to you, nobody else can see it), RT (ReTweet: somebody else posted this first and I can ReTweet it letting others know I think it’s good) and FML… I’ll leave it to you to find out what FML stands for.
– The crazy looking links have been shortened so that they take up less space. They look odd, and yes they can take you to any site without your knowledge so you must trust the person that posts it. There are only 140 characters that you may use and so shortened links are highly used.
If you want to seriously use Twitter then you will need software like Tweetdeck from www.tweetdeck.com; it’s awesome. Twitter is completely useless for any sort of business purpose if you try and use it through Twitter.com. Personally, I never go to the Twitter website, there’s no reason to!
Download Tweetdeck, and Adobe Air if needed and get Tweetdeck running. You will have columns for tweets where you are mentioned (with the @ symbol before your name) and sent Direct Messages (DM). Other than these basic columns you may add more for customized searches that will update themselves and keep you informed when anybody tweets using your specific keywords!!
Maybe you have a dog training business online; create a search column for ‘dog training’ and you will see every single message every person tweets with the words ‘dog’ and ‘training’ in any order of the tweet. They won’t always be about ‘dog training’, (I’ve been in training for scuba diving testing… oh the dog has to go out) but most will. Now figure out other combinations of keywords or search phrases… ‘dog training’ won’t give you any results for ‘training dogs’ for example, but ‘dogs training’ will. Hopefully I am able to clarify the difference!
Any time you see a relevant message about something in your area of expertise, you can follow the person that posted the tweet (you aren’t really interested in following them, but they like it and normally will follow you back) and then send them an @ message. You SHOULD NOT try and sell anything to the person you are tweeting with your first message to them. Start a conversation and let them know you are an authority in your subject area and see if there is something that you can do to help… FOR FREE. Yes you can post a link to your site if you feel you must, but they will ask or figure it out if they are interested. Don’t be pushy!
If you want to be a spammer and annoy people, then by all means please try to monetize Twitter! This is how!
1- Harass people with your first tweet when they follow you, by sending them an automatic DM that spams them with something to buy.
2- Spam the same tweets over and over all day and night, every day. Better yet, spam the same tweets at the same time from multiple accounts every 15 minutes 24hrs a day.
3- Post tweets that are obviously stuffed with TT’s!
4- Never talk with people who are interested in your area of expertise, use software to create every tweet for you.
5- Never give free advice, or post tweets to sites that will help people and have nothing to do with something you sell.
6- Post obscene or controversial messages about relition, politics or bodily functions. Also swear whenever possible.
7- Tweet @ every user you see with your offer and website
and so on and so forth…
I know there is information here that you can use starting today to get started on Twitter. Don’t worry about not understanding everything that’s going on or what you should do or say. Start off by following people in your market and see what it is they do on Twitter. Don’t follow celebrities unless that is your area of business; follow them once you know what you are doing and have the time to do your work plus see what Shaq is eating for lunch.
Tweet @ you Twitterites later.
